The Old Taylor Farmhouse Corner Is Coming Back as Fabricant Farms. Here's What's Taking So Long.

Tyler and Melissa Fabricant were regulars at Taylor Farmhouse Café long before they thought about owning it. In a Palm Beach Post profile, they describe coming for the live music, the bonfire pit and the open space, where parents could relax while their children ran around outside. The café closed in 2023. The couple is now bringing the property at 16891 Jupiter Farms Road back as Fabricant Farms.

Anyone driving Jupiter Farms Road this year has seen the heavy equipment and the trees coming down. What's going on is less a restaurant renovation than a rebuild of everything underneath it. Most of the work has gone into water, waste and parking. The things people remember, like the food, the music and the space for kids, sit on top of that, and they come back in stages.

Five Years of Farmhouse, Then a Quiet Corner

Taylor Farmhouse Café opened in 2018, according to WPTV. In the summer of 2023 the Taylor family brought in new management. The café closed briefly for the handover and reopened on July 24, 2023, WPTV reported at the time. A few months later, in late October 2023, it closed suddenly. WPTV's November 2023 report said the last day of service was a Saturday, and the operator's management of the café formally ended on October 31.

The corner then sat closed for well over two years. In March 2026, WPTV reported that new owners were already doing heavy work on the property.

What's Being Built Before Anyone Orders Dinner

Reopening a casual gathering spot out on a farm road takes far more than new paint and a new menu. On the Fabricant Farms website, the owners say the work is meant to bring the property up to full state and county code. They also say every part of it has been planned and approved by the county, including traffic flow, drainage, landscaping and septic. Here is their list of upgrades:

Upgrade What the owners and local reports describe
Water supply A new commercial-grade well with a full reverse-osmosis treatment system
Wastewater A new septic system, which the owners say has the largest leach field in Palm Beach County
Stormwater Engineered dry retention basins tied into an underground drainage system, plus overflow and water management
Parking Expanded, lighted parking areas; WPTV reported 20 new parking spots
Guest facilities A covered outdoor deck and additional restrooms
Entertainment An outdoor stage

Almost everything on that list is either underground or sits next to the building. By the time the property opens, the most expensive work will be the part guests never see.

That also explains the trees. Some are being removed and others kept, and the owners say any trees they remove will be replaced under county environmental guidelines. Their website acknowledges that seeing trees come down "can be tough" and thanks neighbors for their patience during this phase. During construction, the owners have asked the public to stay off the property, since it is an active work zone with heavy equipment.

The Order Things Return In

Because the infrastructure comes first, the rest of the plan comes back in stages. Across the owners' website and local coverage, the order is consistent.

  1. The restaurant and the food truck. The first phase is a full-service restaurant with home-style food, along with a food truck serving tacos and burritos, WhatNow reported. JupiterDaily describes a comfort-food menu of burgers, tacos, flatbreads, fish and steaks. The owners also plan to bring back some favorites from the old Taylor Farmhouse menu next to new Fabricant Farms dishes.
  2. Dinner first, then brunch, then the rest of the day. Business Debut reported a plan to start with dinner Wednesday through Sunday, possibly adding Tuesday later, then Sunday brunch, and eventually lunch and breakfast.
  3. The extras. WPTV reported that an ice cream shop and an arcade would follow the restaurant. The longer-term plans also include a coffee bar, a sweets and treats shop, a locals market, outdoor family gathering areas and full liquor service.

This order matters to anyone picturing a full Saturday out there with kids, coffee and a market stop. The dinner table comes back first, and the larger family destination fills in around it over time.

What Carries Over From the Farmhouse Years

The old café was known as a place where neighbors gathered, and the new owners are building around the same idea. "It's more than just a restaurant; this is a community place," Tyler Fabricant told WPTV. He also gave the line that has become the project's motto: "We don't grow food here, we grow memories."

Live music is the clearest link to the past. The new outdoor stage is there for it, and the owners' website lists "live music nightly" among its plans. Outdoor space for families is the other link. Plans include a large enclosed area for family gatherings, and JupiterDaily reports ideas such as Sunday-morning yoga and room for children to play outside.

Some things are new. Full liquor service, an arcade and a locals market were not part of the old Farmhouse, and together they move the property from a café toward a small destination. WPTV reported that the project is expected to create at least 40 jobs, which is significant for a single business on a Jupiter Farms Road lot.

The Thanksgiving Target

The owners have been consistent about timing all year. In March, WPTV reported that the restaurant hoped to open close to Thanksgiving. Their website says the same: "If all goes according to plan, we're hoping to welcome you to Fabricant Farms before Thanksgiving." JupiterDaily's September report noted that the owners have said construction and permitting could push the opening later into the winter.

Because the slow work is below ground, the opening depends mostly on the well, septic, drainage and parking being finished and approved. The website at fabricantfarms.com is where the owners post their updates. For Jupiter Farms, getting the corner back means the restaurant and stage open first, then brunch, then the ice cream counter, arcade and market as each one is ready.
